Concealer 101

So many people consider concealer a must have in their makeup bag, but shopping for one can be soo overwhelming. When looking at an isle you will see that not only to they come in regular skin tones but that they also come in colors such as green, yellow, and purple. Every color can help target a specific problem area, and you can learn the basics by just looking at the color wheel.

Basically any color on the wheel cancels out what is across from it, for example a green concealer would cancel out any redness.

Purple or violet concealers get rid of any yellow undertones that your skin may have, and evening it out in the process.

Converse  Dress

Topshop: Astrix Boots & Forever 21 Slip Ons

I will be the first one to admit that I have an addiction to buying shoes, which I guess is why I recently ended up bringing home two new pairs.

Last week, I ordered the Astrix Platform Boots from Topshop. I got them in the black leather style and even though I haven't worn them out yet they are probably my new favorites. Trying them on around the house, they are very comfortable and it doesn't really feel like you're wearing heels because the whole shoe is a platform. They are currently on sale for $40.

From Forever 21, I grabbed their leather slip on flats (sneakers?), I've been seeing different versions of these in tons of stores recently like Vans, Nordstrom, and Steve Madden which all are a little more expensive.

DIY: Jewelry Box

While shopping, I came across this tiny wooden box, and instantly thought it would be perfect for a DIY. You can make this easy and affordable jewelry box for under $5.
You need:
- a small wooden, or plastic box (this one was on sale at Target for under $3)
- your choice of spray paint ($0.97 at Home Depot)
- optional decorations
- an outdoor work space

I made the mistake of doing this on a windy day so my newspaper was blowing everywhere. I sprayed my first coat of paint, then let it dry for about 30-40 minutes before going over it another time. I did a total of four layers of paint (two on the outside and two on the inside of the box). I picked up a few pendants and decorations from Hobby Lobby, but haven't decided if I'm going to add them yet.

Shopping at Aeropostale?

When someone says Aeropostale I'm sure most people think of the same thing: the preppy style of clothing that was taking over middle schools in 2006. While I can definitely say I was guilty of shopping there in the past, I basically have avoided stores like Aero, American Eagle, and Hollister, since, so I was pretty surprised when I randomly wandered into Aeropostale and actually found something I liked. Since they apparently haven't been doing too well lately business wise there were sales on almost everything. I grabbed the Tokyo Darling Zodiac Graphic T on a 50% discount. For months its seems I've been passing the Clarisonic Mia Facial Brush at Macy's trying to convince myself to buy it. But after asking the saleswomen one question I was quickly introduced to the Clarisonic 'world', filled with different models and expensive brush options. As tempting as it was, I just couldn't bring myself to spend over $150 on a facial brush, no matter how cute the colors were. I've been looking for a cheaper option and these are a few that I'm considering. Do you guys have any of these or any other suggestions? Is the Clarisonic worth its money?

Spring Style: Jellies

With shoes always being my favorite part of any outfit, I remember being so excited to put these on back when I was three or four years old, so its great that they came back into fashion again years later. Do you guys have any childhood favorites that are making their way back around?

Easter Cupcakes

Okay so I'm not really sure if this counts as a DIY, because it's not technically made from scratch, buuuut I have a secret obsession with baking cupcakes and cakes so when Easter came around I saw it as the perfect opportunity to make something. Even though they are pink, the icing and the cake are both vanilla flavored. These were really good and I think the color was really cute and spring themed. Did you guys make anything special this past Easter?

TIP: If you can't find colored mix, you can just buy food coloring and add it in before you bake in the oven :)

Who Wore It Better?

The first weekend of Coachella has come and gone, and I personally cannot stop looking at photos to see what everyone wore. While it is actually a music and arts festival sooo many people focus on the fashion. Tons of blogs have named Vanessa Hudgens the "Coachella Queen" and it seems like the Jenners have definitely looked to her for some style inspiration.  Vanessa's outfits are from 2012 and 2014, while Kendall and Kylie's are each from this year. How Much Is Your Face Worth?

I have seen this floating around on the Internet and I thought it would be a fun idea for my next post. Even though I have a decent amount of makeup (at least I'd like to think so) I find myself only using the same seven or eight products to create my daily look. Save Or Splurge?

"I like my money right where I can see it...hanging in my closet" While many people wish that they could live by this Carrie Bradshaw quote, the reality is that most of us cannot afford our dream wardrobe :(  After watching this Ted Baker dress for months hoping that it would go on some kind of discount, I realized that they only way I would ever have this in my possession would be in my dreams. I searched around and was able to find a very similar option for 20% of the price. Skate

It might seem surprising but Spring and Summer will eventually be on their way, and one thing that is essential for the warmer months are a good pair of sneakers. I had been eyeing the Sk8 Hi's for a while and I finally decided to make them mine when I found them on sale at Urban Outfitters. These aren't the traditional all black shoes that you may be used to as they have a really light cheetah print on them, but it is not that noticeable.
