Brands to Check out: goPure Naturals

Recently I was introduced to a new product line called goPure Naturals, and after finding out that all of their products are 100% natural, I knew I had to give it a try. I was able to try the Youth Glow Eye Gel, which is great for getting rid of dark circles, eye puffiness, or anything of that nature. This is great for students who may be pulling allnighters studying, or even everyday adults (my mom LOVED it)
My readers who want to give it a try can order anything from the goPure Naturals at a 25% discount for the next 3 months.

Concealer 101

So many people consider concealer a must have in their makeup bag, but shopping for one can be soo overwhelming. When looking at an isle you will see that not only to they come in regular skin tones but that they also come in colors such as green, yellow, and purple. Every color can help target a specific problem area, and you can learn the basics by just looking at the color wheel.

Basically any color on the wheel cancels out what is across from it, for example a green concealer would cancel out any redness.

Purple or violet concealers get rid of any yellow undertones that your skin may have, and evening it out in the process.

The color green cancels out any redness you may have under your eyes or caused by blemishes.

This collection of pink/salmon/peach concealers work for brightening the face and work great for under eye circles.

For months its seems I've been passing the Clarisonic Mia Facial Brush at Macy's trying to convince myself to buy it. But after asking the saleswomen one question I was quickly introduced to the Clarisonic 'world', filled with different models and expensive brush options. As tempting as it was, I just couldn't bring myself to spend over $150 on a facial brush, no matter how cute the colors were. I've been looking for a cheaper option and these are a few that I'm considering. Do you guys have any of these or any other suggestions? Is the Clarisonic worth its money?

How Much Is Your Face Worth?

I have seen this floating around on the Internet and I thought it would be a fun idea for my next post. Even though I have a decent amount of makeup (at least I'd like to think so) I find myself only using the same seven or eight products to create my daily look. Made up of a combination of department store and drug store products, this is how much my face is worth :) Don't forget to add up your own and leave a comment below !

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream $25
MAC Pressed Powder $25
MAC Technakohl Liner $16
NYC Eyebrow Pencil $1
e.l.f. Brow and Lash Clear Mascara $1

Products I Love: Lush Bubblegum Scrub & EOS Lip Spheres

With the crazy subzero temperatures and the 'polar vortex' that is apparently taking place on the East Coast, I thought I would share two products that I use to keep my lips, smooth, soft, and moisturized.

If you have never shopped at Lush, all I can say is that you are definitely missing out! One of the first products I tried (and has turned into one of my favorites) is their Bubblegum Lip Scrub. It is an exfoliator that uses sugar and jojoba oil to remove any dead skin while keeping your lips soft. Apparently you should lick the excess off of your lips but I think that's kinda weird considering there could be dead skin in it, so I just wipe mine off with a tissue. I use this 1-2 times per day before I apply any chap stick or lip gloss. The lip scrub also comes in a few other colors and flavors so be sure to check them out !

My second go to product(s) would definitely have to be any one of my EOS Sphere Lip Balms, I'm sure that majority of you guys already know about them since they have been popular for a few years, so I won't go into a ton of detail. The EOS products are the first ones that I have used that actually retain their moisture, and I find myself having to apply them was less frequently than other products that I have tried in the past. They have a super cute design and are only $3-4 each, so you can't go wrong grabbing one for yourself or a friend. Comment below your favorite flavor or if anyone has used any of their other products. :)

DIY: Spot Treatment

Since I had to spend most of my Friday being snowed in. I thought here is a good chance to post my very first DIY. I discovered the Honey & Nutmeg Spot Treatment on the Internet a while ago, but I only got around to trying it, in the last few months. With only 3-4 steps this is a super easy way to even out your skin tone, or to clear up a few dark marks/scars. I use this every 2-3 days and saw a difference in my skin after the first week! Try this at home and comment on how it worked for you :)

For this DIY you will need:
  • Honey
  • Nutmeg
  • Bowl or cup
  • Spoon
  • Measuring Cups
While there are no exact measurements for this, I found that it comes out better if you equally add your ingredients. I am using the 1/4 cup and filling it half way with honey first, followed by the nutmeg. (You can use any size measuring cups depending on how much you want to make)

,

After measuring out my amounts I am going to add them to the bowl.

The last step is to grab your spoon and mix everything together. To apply I usually use a plastic spoon and will leave it on for 20-40 minutes. When you're ready to wash your face, I would definitely suggest wiping the excess mixture off your face with a wet napkin or paper towel, this makes it waaay easier when washing. Now you just rinse with your favorite facial cleanser and you are on your way to even skin!
