Save Or Splurge?

"I like my money right where I can see it...hanging in my closet" While many people wish that they could live by this Carrie Bradshaw quote, the reality is that most of us cannot afford our dream wardrobe :(  After watching this Ted Baker dress for months hoping that it would go on some kind of discount, I realized that they only way I would ever have this in my possession would be in my dreams. I searched around and was able to find a very similar option for 20% of the price. Did you guys 'save' or 'splurge' on your most recent purchase?

Skate

It might seem surprising but Spring and Summer will eventually be on their way, and one thing that is essential for the warmer months are a good pair of sneakers. I had been eyeing the Sk8 Hi's for a while and I finally decided to make them mine when I found them on sale at Urban Outfitters. These aren't the traditional all black shoes that you may be used to as they have a really light cheetah print on them, but it is not that noticeable. Here are some potential summer outfits to pair them with :)

Workout In Style

All over the world tons of people all had the same New Year's Resolution: to get in shape. While exercise can be difficult, it doesn't have to be boring. Picking up some new workout gear can add some excitment to your day and will have you motivated to hit the gym. These are some of my favorite stores for affordable fitness outfits, followed by some inspired outfit posts.

Products I Love: Lush Bubblegum Scrub & EOS Lip Spheres

With the crazy subzero temperatures and the 'polar vortex' that is apparently taking place on the East Coast, I thought I would share two products that I use to keep my lips, smooth, soft, and moisturized.

If you have never shopped at Lush, all I can say is that you are definitely missing out! One of the first products I tried (and has turned into one of my favorites) is their Bubblegum Lip Scrub. It is an exfoliator that uses sugar and jojoba oil to remove any dead skin while keeping your lips soft. Apparently you should lick the excess off of your lips but I think that's kinda weird considering there could be dead skin in it, so I just wipe mine off with a tissue. I use this 1-2 times per day before I apply any chap stick or lip gloss. The lip scrub also comes in a few other colors and flavors so be sure to check them out !

My second go to product(s) would definitely have to be any one of my EOS Sphere Lip Balms, I'm sure that majority of you guys already know about them since they have been popular for a few years, so I won't go into a ton of detail. The EOS products are the first ones that I have used that actually retain their moisture, and I find myself having to apply them was less frequently than other products that I have tried in the past. They have a super cute design and are only $3-4 each, so you can't go wrong grabbing one for yourself or a friend. Comment below your favorite flavor or if anyone has used any of their other products. :)

DIY: Spot Treatment

Since I had to spend most of my Friday being snowed in. I thought here is a good chance to post my very first DIY. I discovered the Honey & Nutmeg Spot Treatment on the Internet a while ago, but I only got around to trying it, in the last few months. With only 3-4 steps this is a super easy way to even out your skin tone, or to clear up a few dark marks/scars. I use this every 2-3 days and saw a difference in my skin after the first week! Try this at home and comment on how it worked for you :)

For this DIY you will need:
  • Honey
  • Nutmeg
  • Bowl or cup
  • Spoon
  • Measuring Cups
While there are no exact measurements for this, I found that it comes out better if you equally add your ingredients. I am using the 1/4 cup and filling it half way with honey first, followed by the nutmeg. (You can use any size measuring cups depending on how much you want to make)

,

After measuring out my amounts I am going to add them to the bowl.

The last step is to grab your spoon and mix everything together. To apply I usually use a plastic spoon and will leave it on for 20-40 minutes. When you're ready to wash your face, I would definitely suggest wiping the excess mixture off your face with a wet napkin or paper towel, this makes it waaay easier when washing. Now you just rinse with your favorite facial cleanser and you are on your way to even skin!
